Mental Health First Aid Training is an evidence-based program that can help you learn how to think about and talk about mental health in an accurate way. You will learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges, listen non-judgmentally, give reassurance and information, encourage appropriate professional treatment and support, and encourage appropriate self-help and support. This course consists of 10 minutes of pre-work in an on-line format, to be completed before the in-person training, followed by two, half-day trainings that are 4 hours each (8 hours total). Each participant will receive a workbook and a Mental Health First Aid manual to keep.
